Often my paintings are 10-15 layers, where I use recycled materials such as vegetable netting, salt, paper and sand as well as oil paint, acrylic, gouache, and spray paint to create something new every time. My abstract paintings are all about trusting the process and being a channel for the paint to live through. A big part of the process is the space in between the layers, where I plan, mix the perfect colors, just let the painting speak its needs to me. I rely heavily on water, gravity, and motion with these paintings and the majority of work is done outdoors.
With a background in science, experimentation and discovery is at the forefront of my creative process. Exploration of materials keeps me excited and inspired. It is my intention to create paintings that instill a sense of peace, playfulness and joy. Ultimately, I enjoy sharing the delight in my process and hope to inspire our viewers to find the creative force within each and everyone of us.
